Xiaomi 18 Pro Series To Launch In China On 23 September With Dual 200MP Cameras

Xiaomi has announced that it will introduce the Xiaomi 18 Pro series in China on 23 September. The company made the announcement via its official Weibo post. The 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models are expected to be launched at this time. The standard model, however, is not expected to be released until later, possibly towards the end of 2026 or in Q1 2027.

The Ultra model, a premium device, reportedly won't be part of this year's launch. Earlier reports suggested that Xiaomi might have discontinued this device due to soaring component costs caused by a memory shortage. However, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed or denied these rumors. The Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models follow the series' trend of emphasizing photography.

According to Xiaomi's official Weibo post, these two devices will feature dual 200MP sensors. One of these sensors is a main camera, while the other is a periscope telephoto lens. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the series will be powered by a 2nm flagship mobile platform, an M11 OLED display system, an updated secondary display, and larger batteries.

The 18 Pro is said to come with a 7,000mAh battery, whereas the Pro Max will have an 8,500mAh one. As of now, the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is not listed on SIRIM's certification database, which indicates that the phones have not been certified for sale in Malaysia. Consequently, there is no information available about when and if these devices will be made available in the country.
