Xiaomi 18 Pro has a Privacy Display that does more than Galaxy S26 Ultra, launches this week [Video]

Xiaomi has announced that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will include a Privacy Display feature similar to the one found in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, but with additional capabilities. The Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra is a hardware feature that alters the light emitted from the display to prevent onlookers from seeing the content from an angle.

Xiaomi's version, called a "smart privacy screen," appears to work in a similar manner, obfuscating content from off-center views while still allowing clear visibility when viewed straight on. Xiaomi will offer this feature selectively in certain apps or on specific portions of the screen, such as notifications, rather than applying it globally.

Additionally, the Xiaomi 18 Pro can use this feature on floating app windows, split-screen displays, and lock screen notifications, demonstrating a greater level of flexibility compared to Samsung's implementation. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is scheduled to launch on September 23, boasting a battery capacity up to 8,500 mAh and other notable features, per the latest reports from GSMArena.
