WATCH | ‘Topic of the day in Europe’: Sibanyoni says Madlanga Commission has the world watching

Joe “Ferrari” Sibanyoni, the taxi boss and businessman, has recommenced providing his statement at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria. This occurred following a brief interruption to permit him to implement minor corrections to his supplementary statement. Certain witnesses have alleged that Sibanyoni is associated with a criminal syndicate referred to as the “Big Five.”

Earlier, Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, the commission's Chairperson, acceded to Sibanyoni and his legal representative's request for additional time to effect the modifications.

Justice Madlanga inquired, "Mr Sibanyoni, do you confirm all the changes; the correctness?" Sibanyoni replied, "I think so. Sorry, sorry. I think so". Madlanga then said, "You must be more categorical than this". Sibanyoni responded, "Yeah. That's why I should have been given assistance, because it was almost too critical". The Chair then asked, "Sorry? I should have given assistance in analysing all those small factors. I'm not sure I get you". Sibanyoni answered, "I've made the corrections, Chair. Yes."
