US father explains why he forgave wife who killed their three children

Patrick Clancy, whose three children were killed by his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy, spoke about his decision to forgive her on CBS News' 60 Minutes. He believed Lindsay's mental illness was responsible for the tragic deaths of their children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan. In his first interview since the mistrial, Patrick stated he had seen Lindsay described as a "Killer Mom" and a "Monster," but rejected those labels.

He said he forgave her not just out of forgiveness for her, but for his own mental well-being, admitting he would have been "eaten up inside forever" if he hadn't. Patrick recounted finding his ex-wife's body and discovering the children in the basement after she had jumped from an upstairs window. He held Callan, who survived for four days before dying in his arms.

Despite the trauma, Patrick remains grateful for those final days with Callan and speaks out against conspiracy theories circulating about his involvement in the killings.
