Two officers among six troops martyred in Hangu fire exchange with terrorists

In a fire exchange that took place in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, six people lost their lives while eight terrorists were killed, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The incident occurred between a security forces convoy and a group known as Khwarij in the Hangu district. The statement from ISPR emphasized that eight members of the Khwarij, who were sponsored by India and affiliated with Fitna-Al-Khwarij, were eliminated due to the effective actions of the Pakistani troops.

Captain Abuzar Farooq, a 23-year-old officer from Gujranwala, and Lieutenant Sheraz Babar, a 22-year-old officer from Chakwal, who were leading their troops from the front, were among the martyrs. Both officers fought bravely and lost their lives in the intense exchange of fire. Following the exchange, a sanitization operation was initiated to remove any remaining terrorists in the area.

The ISPR affirmed that the ongoing counterterrorism campaign, under the 'Azm-i- Istehkam' vision approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan, would continue in full force to eradicate the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan. The military's media wing stated that the sacrifices made by these brave soldiers further underscore the nation's unwavering commitment to protect it at all costs.
