Tulsa football adds QB Shamar Banner to Golden Hurricane's 2027 recruiting class

Broken Arrow senior quarterback Shamar Banner announced his commitment to Tulsa University on Sunday, opting to join the Golden Hurricane for the 2027 recruiting class. The three-star recruit, listed at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, made his decision following a decommitment from Marshall State in the previous month. Banner began his college football journey at Broken Arrow this season, transferring from Duluth High School in Georgia.

Acknowledging the support from coaches and the Tulsa Football staff, Banner expressed gratitude for making his pivotal decision as smooth as possible. The junior led the Tigers to a 3-0 start to the season, completing 28 of 39 passes for 526 yards and six touchdowns, while also contributing with 74 rushing yards and three scores on 18 carries. Currently, Broken Arrow is gearing up for a Friday night game against Norman North.
