Trump wants to launch a new "AI force" - but I can't imagine Salesforce is particularly happy about the name

President Trump recently introduced a new initiative to address potential worries surrounding artificial intelligence, by appointing a special official to monitor its development, as well as forming an AI force. However, this concept is met with an unexpected hurdle - Salesforce recently unveiled its own AIforce, an interface platform for AI that was the star of its Dreamforce 2026 event.

The AIforce, announced at this major tech conference, showcased a new way for users to engage with data and AI, aiming to boost workplace productivity and efficiency. Salesforce CEO and Chair Marc Benioff described AIforce as the "most exciting thing" he's ever seen for the company, making it a standout feature at the event, with prominent displays throughout.

The issue arises when comparing the names, as Salesforce's AIforce is almost identical to the one President Trump proposed. Given Trump's track record of choosing unusual names for initiatives (like Space Force, Big Beautiful Bill, and Gulf of America), it seems unlikely that he would avoid a potential copyright issue with Salesforce.

Moreover, Trump is currently seeking suggestions for a new name for artificial intelligence itself. He made it clear in a recent post on his Truth Social site that his administration intends to support the growth of the AI industry, likening the AI Force to his Space Force, which he deemed a "tremendous SUCCESS." The President did not offer further details about the AI Force, such as its expected announcement or leadership, but did state that only individuals with a high IQ would be considered for the AI Czar position.

Benioff might want to reach out to Trump to prevent any copyright issues that could arise from the similar AIforce names.
