The Witcher Is Getting the Full-Cast Audiobook Treatment, Following Rise in Audio Drama Popularity

The Witcher series is expanding into full-cast audio drama productions, following the growing popularity of audio dramas. Beginning in 2026 and 2027, the new productions will adapt Sapkowski's latest novel, Crossroads of Ravens, as well as a prequel focusing on the young Geralt of Rivia. The full-cast format, which features an ensemble cast, original music, and sound design, brings Sapkowski's world to life in a fresh way.

The cast includes actors such as Sam Stafford, Richard Armitage, Clare Corbett, Tom Alexander, and Peter Kenny, among others. The publisher plans to continue adapting Sapkowski's entire Witcher saga over the next two years, starting with The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny scheduled for November 2026. The Witcher's move into full-cast audio is notable, given the numerous adaptations already existing for the fantasy books, including successful video games, TV series, animated films, comics, and more.

The Witcher's transition to full-cast audio is just one example of the format's growing traction in recent years.
