Teacher shot in Lakhimpur Kheri school; fearing arrest attackers kills self: Cop

A 28-year-old man entered the Children Academy school in Lakhimpur Kheri on Monday morning and allegedly shot a 26-year-old female teacher, Nishat Fatima, before taking his own life. The incident sent panic among around 350 children present at the school. The attacker, identified as Saud Ansari, a resident of Naurangabad, is reported to have had a conversation with Fatima before shooting her twice.

Just moments after the first shot, Ansari reportedly turned the gun on himself. Both victims died at the scene. The school was empty at the time, with examinations underway. Police and forensic teams arrived at the scene following the incident and are investigating the motive behind the attack. The district magistrate, Superintendent of Police, and City Circle Officer were on the scene to secure the area and gather evidence.

Authorities are probing how Ansari gained entry to the school with a weapon and the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The incident has raised serious concerns over security at schools for young children.
