Super Ego’s Mimic notches win in court case; settlement coming?

A federal judge dismissed several counts against Super Ego's Aleksandar Mimic in a trucking network lawsuit, with settlement talks reportedly advancing. Judge Martha Pacold dismissed four counts, while one count remains with prejudice. The lawsuit, filed by drivers in 2022 and amended in 2025, accused Super Ego and its affiliates of illegal practices, including breaches of contract and violations of the Truth in Leasing Act, Illinois fraud laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and an Illinois wage law.

Despite Mimic's dismissal, the lawsuit against other defendants, including Super Ego Holding LLC, Floyd, Inc., Kordun Express Inc., and others, remains ongoing. The lawsuit alleges that the defendants operated as an affiliated group of transportation carriers, leasing companies, and holding companies, often dissolving when facing safety enforcement or litigation, and recreating under different DOT numbers.

The driver plaintiffs allege numerous illegal practices through lease-purchase programs, where drivers paid significant amounts of their own money for trucks and operating expenses, and then hauled loads for less than promised.
