Suahasil Appoints 14 New Officials at Finance Ministry

Jakarta - Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has announced a series of appointments and promotions within the Ministry of Finance and its associated committees. The ceremony, held at the Ministry's headquarters in Jakarta on September 21, 2026, saw 14 officials sworn in, including both promotions and transfers. Suahasil stated that this was a continuation of previous appointment cycles for senior officials, following requests from those unable to attend earlier ceremonies.

The appointments were made after evaluations conducted by the Position and Advisory Board in collaboration with heads of Echelon I units. Suahasil emphasized the importance of this structured process in maintaining a merit-based system for talent management. The board evaluates employees based on performance and characteristics to select suitable candidates for various positions.

At the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, new officials are tasked with understanding economic trends and taxpayer behavior to inform sound policy decisions. At the Directorate General of Treasury, they are expected to manage budgets with precision to ensure timely public spending. The Financial System Stability Committee Secretariat is expected to monitor economic indicators, identify systemic risks, facilitate inter-agency communication, issue early warnings, and ensure concrete action is taken during meetings.

Suahasil urged all newly appointed officials to grasp the broader economic landscape and translate their knowledge into effective policy decisions.
