Sindh Launches Digital Classrooms and New Schools for Special Children

Sindh's Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, officially launched 49 digital classrooms and 20 satellite schools for special children throughout the province, alongside a new sign language teacher training program. Addressing the event organized by the Special Education Department, Shah emphasized the government's dedication to delivering quality education to all children and employing modern technology to enhance learning possibilities for special children.

The newly established digital classrooms boast smart boards, e-learning tools, and other contemporary educational resources designed to assist students in confidently adapting to a digital environment. Shah highlighted that infrastructure and technology are not sufficient; the success of these facilities also hinges on the individuals who utilize them.

The Sindh government has additionally launched a sign language teacher training program in partnership with Deaf Reach and FESF, aimed at enhancing the professional skills of educators working with special children. Shah reiterated the provincial government's commitment to the education, welfare, and rehabilitation of special children.

Currently, approximately 20,000 students are enrolled in 67 special education institutions across Sindh, who receive free education, rehabilitation services, physiotherapy, speech therapy, transportation, nutritious meals, and a monthly stipend of Rs. 3,000 per student.
