Security forces kill 37 terrorists in KP operations, air strikes: govt

Security forces in Pakistan killed 37 terrorists during intelligence-based ground operations and subsequent air strikes in Kohat and Hangu districts, according to the Ministry of Information. The operations were conducted in response to recent terrorist attacks against civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On September 20, a group of terrorists belonging to Indian proxy group Fitna Al-Khwarij was targeted in ground operations, resulting in the death of nine terrorists and injuries to several others.

Following credible intelligence, precision air strikes were conducted against terrorist camps and hideouts in the border region with Afghanistan, destroying three targets, including a suicide bomber training center, leading to the deaths of 28 terrorists, including multiple suicide bombers. Large quantities of weapons and ammunition were also destroyed.

The ministry emphasized Pakistan's commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region, despite Afghanistan being a persistent "hub of terrorism" that poses a threat to Pakistan. The counter-terrorism campaign, Ghazab lil Haq, under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework, will continue to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
