Samsung, LG claim top spots in AI-generated appliance ratings

Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics emerged as the top performers in half of eight home appliance categories based on a new analysis of AI-generated product recommendations. The study, conducted by AIBIX lab, examined responses from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude to determine the AI Brand Competitiveness Index (AIBIX) across 182 brands.

In the categories of washing machines, dryers, air purifiers, and cordless vacuum cleaners, Samsung and LG led the rankings. Samsung claimed first place in washing machines and dryers, scoring 82.6 points and 74.5 points, respectively, with LG closely following at 82.6 points in washing machines and 74.5 points in dryers. The two companies also shared the top spot in air purifiers and cordless vacuum cleaners, with Samsung at 72.3 points and 69.5 points, while LG scored 70.8 points and 70.8 points, respectively.

In the remaining four categories, specialized niche brands claimed the lead. Coway topped the rental water purifier category with 82.2 points, followed by Roborock in robot vacuum cleaners at 79.2 points. In the wireless earphones and headphones category, Sony secured the top position with 79.7 points, while Minix led the headphones category with 73.6 points. Lastly, in the food waste processors category, Minix emerged as the leader with 78.4 points.
