Russia And China’s Role In The Iran War Was Limited To Technological And Intelligence Support — Expert

Kemal Kısa, founder of the Policy and Strategy analytical platform, stated that Russia and China's involvement in the Iran war was limited to providing technological and intelligence support behind the scenes. Kısa made these remarks to an Ukrinform correspondent, adding that Russia had certainly supported Iran in the conflict but had not expected more active assistance from both countries.

He elaborated that Russia and China primarily offered support in terms of missile precision and satellite intelligence, rather than deploying their armed forces in the war. Kısa also pointed out that Iran altered its strategy during the conflict, shifting away from direct attacks on Israel due to limited technological capabilities.

Instead, Iran targeted countries allied with the United States and Israel, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and their respective military installations and energy facilities. Moreover, Kısa mentioned that both Russia and China vetoed a UN Security Council resolution to extend the mandate of a panel of experts tasked with monitoring compliance with international sanctions against Iran, arguing that all UN measures were lifted under the 2015 nuclear agreement between Tehran and world powers.
