Rockstar Games Is Taking Down Footage and Images of Scrapped GTA 5 DLC And Early Version of Leaked GTA 6 Map

Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has started removing videos and posts featuring leaked content related to Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA 6. Weeks ago, a significant amount of Grand Theft Auto 5 files were leaked online, apparently obtained during the 2022 hack that also resulted in the first-ever footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 appearing online.

These files, which have recently surfaced, include cut dialogue from GTA 5 that hints at multiple storylines, including a darker ending for Franklin. The most significant discoveries are details of a scrapped Liberty City expansion for GTA 5 and an extremely early version of GTA 6's map. Since this material was obtained illegally through a hack, not released officially by Rockstar, Take-Two Interactive is attempting to eliminate the assets from the internet.

While the company's approach is less aggressive than the scorched-earth strategy employed for the GTA 6 leaks, content creators who post this material may face copyright strikes. Take-Two is currently taking down YouTube videos regarding the latest GTA leaks. As the release of GTA 6 approaches in two months, Rockstar's security is expected to be at its highest.

The studio has faced multiple leaks over the past four years, and now that the game is likely finished, it could be at risk of spoilers. However, the absence of physical copies will make it more challenging for leaks to occur before its release. Despite tons of footage surfacing in August, it remains possible for more information to leak online.
