The National Center for Inspection and Oversight in Saudi Arabia has unveiled the National Framework Policy for Inspection Activities, a unified national framework designed to enhance the consistency, transparency, and efficiency of inspections across the country. This comprehensive policy aims to unify the procedural framework utilized by various regulatory authorities, taking into consideration the mandates of relevant government entities.

The primary objectives of the National Framework Policy are multifaceted. It seeks to develop and sustain the regulatory system, improve consistency, transparency, and efficiency in inspection and oversight, and bolster awareness among establishments regarding regulatory requirements to enhance compliance. The policy is anchored in five guiding principles that provide a robust framework for its implementation.

Firstly, the policy emphasizes awareness and compliance, ensuring that establishments are well-informed about regulatory obligations. Secondly, it adopts a risk-based approach to prioritize areas that require more stringent oversight. Thirdly, consistency and predictability are key, aiming to standardize inspection procedures and outcomes.

Transparency and fairness are also cornerstones, ensuring that inspections are conducted impartially and equitably. Lastly, the policy underscores the importance of impartiality and integrity, reinforcing the commitment to unbiased and ethical inspection practices.

The policy delineates the main stages of inspections, from meticulous planning and preparation to the execution of inspections, follow-up actions, and the finalization of procedures. All findings are meticulously documented based on objective evidence, ensuring a transparent audit trail. Crucially, awareness and practical education for private-sector establishments are integral components of the inspection process.
