Raumfahrt: Mitgründer verlässt Isar Aerospace

Munich - Just two weeks after the successful launch of its rocket, space startup Isar Aerospace has lost its technical chief. Co-founder Josef Fleischmann has resigned as CTO to develop other space technologies in his newly established company, Bavaria Instruments. Isar Aerospace confirmed his departure on Monday, but a spokesperson said Fleischmann still holds an interest in the company.

The new CTO will be Can Araz. "At Isar Aerospace, we have demonstrated that first-class engineering can be translated into genuine production capacities in Europe," Fleischmann said. "Now, it's about translating further critical technologies into products, business models, and results." He praised Araz for his contributions to the company's technology development from the outset, noting that he combines solid technical expertise with a unique understanding of their systems and is well-suited to lead the technology and development organization into the next phase.

Bavaria Instruments will initially focus on computing technologies for the orbit to process data directly in space, improving real-time analysis of Earth observation data and autonomous actions and collaborations among spacecraft. More: Isar Aerospace aims to launch again this year.
