Police investigate explosive attacks on business premises in Kuching and Sri Aman

Kuching and Sri Aman police are investigating two separate incidents of explosive attacks on business premises, according to Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah. The police are actively looking into the matter to identify the suspects and ascertain the motive behind the attacks. They are examining the materials used, reviewing CCTV footage, and exploring if there is any link between the two occurrences.

The cases are being treated under Section 436 of the Penal Code, which could result in a maximum 20-year prison sentence and a fine upon conviction. Zainal also mentioned that the police are investigating claims on social media that the targeted convenience stores were selling top-ups for online gambling, and these allegations will be thoroughly investigated.

If the investigations confirm the claims, the police may take appropriate action, such as revoking the business licenses of the premises involved. Zainal urged business owners to enhance their security measures and promptly report any suspicious individuals or vehicles to the authorities.
