Police arrest suspected kidnapper, recover drone in Kano

The Kano State Police have apprehended a 35-year-old individual, Habibu Bello, suspected of being involved in kidnappings and cattle rustling. The arrest took place on September 14 in Kunkumi Town, Makarfi Local Government Area within the Kano-Kaduna border. Bello hails from Kunkumi Town in Kaduna State.

During the operation, police discovered that Bello was allegedly a part of a syndicate engaged in various criminal activities across Kano, Kaduna, and Katsina states. These offenses include kidnapping, armed robbery, and cattle rustling. Investigations further led to the arrest of another alleged member, Mudam, from Kwanar Dangora.

Bello reportedly admitted to participating in numerous kidnappings, including one where the victim's family paid N20 million as ransom. The police are still investigating to apprehend the remaining members of the syndicate and recover their weapons.

In another incident, the police recovered a Cine-Camera Drone tagged GT 50 near Hawan Tarau Village in Bebeji Local Government Area on September 17. The drone was found abandoned on the ground and authorities are actively working to determine its origin and the individual responsible for it.
