PH-Bersatu pact hinges on Melaka talks, says Amirudin

In Melaka, an electoral pact between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Bersatu for the upcoming election remains unconfirmed and hinges on the outcome of state-level discussions. Amirudin Shari, PH's election director, stated that any agreement would need to be approved by the coalition's upper echelons. PH would initially evaluate the deliberations between its state leadership and the prospect of a 'PH Plus' partnership.

The finality of the pact is uncertain, contingent on the progress of talks with Melaka PH chairman Adly Zahari. Upon reaching an agreement, Amirudin would need to present it to the PH central leadership for approval. The PM's political secretary, Azman Abidin, and acting Melaka PKR chief, Adam Adli Abd Halim, were present during a press conference where Amirudin announced the launch of the Masjid Tanah PKR election machinery in Kuala Sungai Baru.

Amirudin emphasized that any agreement addressing the present needs would be better approached through a political or electoral understanding. The priority for PH is to determine seat allocations among its constituent parties in Melaka before finalizing any cooperation with other parties. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had assigned Amirudin the task of engaging in talks with Bersatu regarding potential political collaboration in Melaka.
