Pakistan Announces First-Ever Central Contracts for U19 Players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has introduced central contracts for Pakistan Under-19 players for the first time, according to recent wire material. This decision came after PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met with the U19 squad following a successful tour of England, where they won the four-match one-day series 3-1. Naqvi personally interacted with each player, commended their performances, and motivated them to continue working hard as they advance in their careers.

Shahid Anwar, the Pakistan U19 head coach, welcomed the move, stating that central contracts at the junior level would provide extra motivation to young players. Captain Farhan Yousuf expressed his happiness about the development, crediting the training camps held in Multan for their positive impact. He added that meeting PCB Chairman Naqvi was particularly encouraging for the squad. Farhan also mentioned that receiving central contracts at the U19 level was a significant source of happiness for the players.

Aliyan Salman believed that the contracts would boost players' confidence and morale, allowing them to focus more on their cricket. Jahangir Bilal emphasized that the financial support provided through the contracts would help young cricketers support their families.
