Nvidia boss rejects AI extinction fears as ‘doomsday narratives’

Huang dismissed these predictions as "not grounded in science" and emphasized that Nvidia's success depends on the safe deployment of its products and services.

He suggested that companies discussing a "slowdown" may be seeking liability protections for potential harms caused by their products, rather than requesting new laws. Nvidia, a key player in the AI industry, develops cutting-edge computer chips essential for AI models. Last week, Huang attended a UK summit hosted by King Charles, who warned tech leaders of the "existential dangers" of AI.

In the US, President Donald Trump downplayed concerns about AI risks, dismissing calls to slow development and describing such fears as a "hoax" during a phone call with Huang at a tech conference in Los Angeles.
