NSW cop Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly disguised himself as Uber Eats rider before double murder, court hears

The legal proceedings for Beau Lamarre-Condon, a former police officer, have commenced in the NSW Supreme Court. Lamarre-Condon stands accused of murdering Sydney residents Jesse Baird and Luke Davies in 2024. Prosecutors allege the couple was shot with Lamarre-Condon's service firearm inside Mr Baird's shared terrace in Paddington, Sydney's east.

He has pleaded not guilty to charges of two counts of domestic violence-related murder and one of aggravated break and enter. The break and enter offense is said to have occurred at the Paddington property in August 2023. Lamarre-Condon, now 31, was arrested shortly after NSW Police launched a public appeal for information regarding the missing couple, whose remains were discovered in Bungonia, nearly 200 kilometers southwest of Sydney's central business district, in surf bags two weeks later.

Jesse Baird was a television presenter for Channel Ten, while Luke Davies worked as a flight attendant for Qantas. The case has profoundly affected the families and wider friendship circles of the victims, causing significant shock within the LGBT community. Police's public appeal for information led to the discovery of personal possessions, including items, found in a bin at Cronulla, in the Sutherland Shire.

The trial, taking place at Sydney's King Street Courts before Justice Natalie Adams, is anticipated to last three months.
