Mumbai Weather Update: City Wakes Up To Humid, Overcast Skies; Light Rain Likely, AQI Remains Moderate

Mumbai experienced humid conditions and overcast skies on Monday as monsoon activity persisted across the city and surrounding areas, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Light rainfall and isolated thundershowers were forecasted during the day, though no rain warning has been issued for Mumbai or neighboring districts this week.

The weather remained generally cloudy with occasional light showers, while wind speeds were expected to hover around 40–50 kmph, with gusts potentially reaching 50–60 kmph during periods of intense rain. The maximum temperature was anticipated to stay near 32°C, while the minimum temperature recorded early Monday morning was 30°C.

In addition to the weather update, Mumbai's air quality index (AQI) transitioned to the moderate range. The overall AQI stood at 81 on Monday morning, placing it in the Moderate category. AQI readings between 0 and 50 are considered Good, while 51–100 fall under the Moderate category. Levels between 101 and 200 are classified as Poor, 201–300 as Unhealthy, and above 300 as Severe.

The recent AQI reading suggests a slight deterioration in Mumbai's air quality, though pollution levels remain within the Moderate range. Sensitive residents may continue to monitor local AQI levels as weather conditions evolve.
