Motorcyclist killed in three-vehicle crash at Sultan Iskandar Highway tunnel

KUALA LUMPUR – A 22-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a three-vehicle collision at Tunnel 2 of the Sultan Iskandar Highway this morning. The crash unfolded around 9:50 am when the victim, riding a Yamaha 135LC motorcycle, lost control and collided with a Honda City. Both vehicles were in the same right lane at the time of the accident.

The motorcyclist then veered into the left lane and was struck by a lorry driven by a 40-year-old man. Despite the impact, the lorry driver managed to avoid causing further harm. The 22-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical assistant from Kuala Lumpur Hospital. The two other drivers involved, the 28-year-old Honda City driver and the 40-year-old lorry driver, were not injured.

Authorities urge anyone with information on the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation. The case is being handled under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
