Mir Raza murder case: Judicial commission turns down MLO's request to record further statement

Karachi: A judicial commission tasked with investigating the circumstances and potential negligence in the Mir Raza Ali murder case declined on Monday a request from Dr. Osama Shaikh, the medico-legal officer who performed the slain businessman's initial autopsy, to record an additional statement. Sindh High Court's Justice Omar Sial, heading the one-member commission, stated that Sheikh had previously expressed on social media that he possessed further information to share with the commission.

When queried by the commission if he believed the death of Mir Raza was a suicide rather than a murder, Sheikh clarified that his intention was not to suggest suicide, but rather to justify his findings that the bullet entered from the front. Justice Sial ruled against Shaikh's request, stating that the commission's purpose was to establish the facts and determine negligence, not to engage in mud-slinging at the police surgeon or Chief Minister.
