Metrash app serves more than 2.8 million active users: MoI

Doha - The Metrash app, operated by Qatar's Ministry of Interior, has attracted more than 2.8 million active users since its launch in 2011. This digital platform offers over 500 services in six languages and processes over 10 million service transactions annually, according to Captain Ali Ahmed Sayed, an officer at the Systems Development Department of the MoI.

The latest upgrade to the Metrash app, released in 2021, features a comprehensive redesign and re-engineered services, making government services more accessible and transactions faster for users. The redesigned app provides a superior smart application technology experience across various mobile devices.

Among the app's key offerings are residency services, which include the issuance, renewal, and cancellation of residency permits, employer approvals, new residency applications, residency fines, and application follow-up. Users can also manage a personal digital file with access to their personal ID, driving licenses, establishment information, vehicle registration, military licences, and procedures.

This includes request replacements for lost or damaged permits, updating personal photographs, changing passport information, and submitting and tracking applications.

The app also provides SOS services, marine-related services, and judgment execution certificates. Users can manage a range of personal documents, including national documents such as issuance, renewal, and replacement of lost or damaged documents, registration and cancellation procedures, and the submission of requests for citizen services and electronic travel permits.
