MEA Internship 2026-27: Applications Close On September 27 At internship.mea.gov.in; Check Eligibility, ₹10,000 Stipend

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) will conclude applications for its Internship Programme 2026-27 on September 27th. Interested candidates can apply via the official MEA website, internship.mea.gov.in. The internship period runs from October 2026 to March 2027, allowing participants to gain insight into the workings of the ministry and its role in assisting Indians abroad.

Shortlisted candidates will be notified by October 7th, after which interviews and the selection process will commence. The official notification and call for applications was made on September 10th, 2026. Applicants must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university and must not be older than 25 years old by December 31 of the internship year.

The internship is open to Indian citizens and is divided into two six-month terms: April to September and October to March. A maximum of 30 interns will be selected per term. Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000 to cover living expenses, and the ministry will also provide airfare for travel to Delhi, where they will reside for the duration of the internship.

The selection procedure is entirely online and consists of two stages: preliminary screening and personal interviews. Candidates must register on the internship portal and provide their login credentials to participate. The preliminary screening process considers academic performance, with separate merit lists prepared for male and female candidates.

Quota-cum-weightage is given to candidates from specific states and underprivileged sections of society. The final selection comprises up to 30 candidates, with priority given to those from targeted districts and disadvantaged groups.
