Loren Finegold, Ed Comber Join Vinson & Elkins NY Practice, Finance & Infrastructure Growth

Vinson & Elkins has welcomed partners Loren Finegold and Ed Comber to its New York Structured Finance and Securitization practice, where Mr. Finegold will lead the team. The experienced duo previously worked together for nearly a decade at Latham & Watkins. With over 25 years of expertise in highly complex asset-based financing solutions, Mr. Finegold has led various groundbreaking securitizations, including those in midstream oil and gas, hyperscale data centers, colocation facilities, and wireless tower ground leases.

Mr. Comber's focus lies in structured finance, securitization, and secured financing transactions, encompassing midstream and upstream oil and gas assets, GPU financings, shipping container and triple net lease assets, as well as rental car fleet securitizations. Vinson & Elkins' Vice Chair, Jim Fox, expressed excitement about the firm's expansion, highlighting their deep knowledge and shared conviction in capital markets' role in driving future growth in energy and infrastructure.

The firm has hired 17 new partners in 2026, with a significant portion of their work revolving around infrastructure projects like Lancium's Stargate data center in Texas and Industrial Development Funding's $1.7 billion power investment for AI cloud infrastructure in New Jersey. Vinson & Elkins has also secured top rankings in various dealmaking categories in 2026, including No. 3 globally in Power Sector M&A by deal value and No. 7 in North America in infrastructure dealmaking.
