London-based AI-native platform Metris Energy has secured a €4.35 million ($5 million) Seed round to advance its AI platform for managing renewable energy assets, Metria AI. The funding was led by PT1 Ventures, Octopus Ventures, AENU, and Blackfinch Ventures, alongside participation from Plug and Play and Love Ventures. This brings the company's total funding to €6.53 million ($7.5 million) since its inception.

Founded in 2025 by ex-Octopus VC Natasha Jones and software engineer William Whatley, Metris initially aimed to consolidate data from various sources like inverters, meters, SCADA, CRMs, spreadsheets, and finance tools into one unified record. However, the company has since expanded its focus to become the unified data layer for the entire energy sector.

Metris asserts it is the AI-native operating system for renewable owners and operators, streamlining the management of asset portfolios by integrating performance, revenue, and operational data. The company highlights that despite global energy transactions amounting to €4.35 trillion annually, many power producers still rely on spreadsheets for operations.

With the grid becoming more decentralized, new revenue streams such as flexibility, curtailment management, community energy, and corporate PPAs are emerging, yet the necessary data remains scattered across dozens of disconnected systems.

The platform offers asset owners a real-time, comprehensive view of their entire portfolio, enabling informed decisions about asset management. Metris is developing an intelligent system of record for energy, continuously updated with raw data from asset systems, metering, SCADA, GIS, and energy markets, and complemented by automated workflows, natural-language querying, a revenue hub, and AI agents.

PT1 Ventures Partner Fabian Koening emphasized that Metris is establishing the data infrastructure required for real-time visibility of energy assets, unlocking AI's potential to transform the sector. The company plans to utilize the raised capital to enhance agentic capabilities and extend its platform into wind and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems. Metris is also expanding its reach across Europe, with a specific emphasis on Germany, where it has already onboarded several new customers.

Currently managing over 10,000 solar plants and 500MW of capacity for leading power producers, Metris has witnessed an 8x year-over-year revenue growth.
