The Gauteng provincial government has welcomed the arrest of three suspects in connection with the murder of Jabulile Ntimba, describing it as a significant step in the fight against violent crime. The arrests were made by the South African Police Service (Saps) following a thorough investigation. Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi praised the breakthrough, emphasizing the importance of persistent police work, community cooperation, and decisive action against violent crime.

He expressed condolences to Ntimba's family and reaffirmed the commitment to bringing justice to victims of violent crime. The provincial government also highlighted ongoing law enforcement initiatives like Operation Shanela and lockdown operations in Kempton Park and Ekurhuleni, aimed at disrupting criminal activity, apprehending suspects, and restoring community safety.

These efforts involve targeted roadblocks, stop-and-searches, compliance inspections, and intelligence-driven patrols. Lesufi called on communities to remain active partners in the fight against crime, urging them to provide information to assist investigations and bring perpetrators to justice. The SAPS has now revealed the names of the nine victims brutally murdered in Ekurhuleni on Gauteng’s East Rand, following the recent breakthrough.
