Lagos students’ group targets 100,000 votes for Tinubu, Hazmat

The Renewed Hope Project 2027, a student wing, aims to secure over 100,000 votes from tertiary institutions in Lagos State for President Bola Tinubu and their own gubernatorial candidate, Obafemi Hazmat. The initiative, launched on Friday, aims to mobilize students across the state for the 2027 general elections. Sanni Olamide, the Lagos State Students' Coordinator, announced that the group would focus on education, youth participation, opportunities, and national development.

Coordinators are already in place at 10 major tertiary institutions, as well as campus coordinators at Caleb University and the National Open University of Nigeria. The group plans to engage in campus-to-campus mobilization, work with student leaders, and maintain regular contact with students. They also intend to host policy symposia and town-hall meetings to discuss various issues affecting students and the nation.

Ali Balogun, the candidate for Somolu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, encouraged young Nigerians to actively participate in nation-building, stressing the importance of their decisions, skills, and values in shaping Nigeria's future. Balogun urged students to develop skills in emerging technologies and apply their knowledge to solve societal problems in various sectors.
