Künstliche Intelligenz: „Mit 75 Prozent Wahrscheinlichkeit passiert genau das: Die Blase platzt“

Stuart Russell, a world-renowned expert in Artificial Intelligence (AI), is a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. For four decades, he has shaped discussions around the potential opportunities and risks of this technology. Russell is a co-author of one of the most important textbooks in the field, which is used in over 1500 universities worldwide.

During an interview at the DLD conference in Munich, he explained to the Handelsblatt why he has gone from being a technology optimist to a cautionary voice, why he believes current regulations are wrong, and how high he estimates the risk of AI spiraling out of control is.

Russell doesn't consider himself a "skeptic." Instead, he feels it's a compliment to AI when he says it could become so powerful that it becomes a threat - unless it's developed properly. Just like someone ensuring an atomic reactor doesn't explode isn't a skeptic about nuclear energy, this is simply common sense.
