KT&G takes home top honor for excellence in investor relations

Korean tobacco and consumer goods firm KT&G emerged victorious at the 2026 Korea IR Awards, claiming the grand prize bestowed by the Korea Exchange’s investor relations service. The prestigious award, presented as the Korea Exchange chairman’s prize, was awarded on Friday at the KRX Market Square in Seoul’s Yeouido financial district. KT&G’s head of strategic planning, Yoon Young-chan, received the accolade from Korea Exchange Chairman Chung Eun-bo.

The Korea IR Service has been bestowing these awards since 2001, recognizing companies that excel in investor relations. KT&G was lauded for fostering an open IR culture, where executives communicate the company’s strategy directly to investors concerning global expansion, shareholder returns, and growth investments. The company also demonstrated active engagement by organizing regular investor conferences, non-deal road shows, and meetings with major domestic and international institutional investors. Moreover, KT&G incorporated valuable feedback from investors into its management decisions.
