Kindiki highlights Ksh39B projects in Meru as he hits back at Ruto critics

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has highlighted a Ksh39 billion development programme in Meru County as the focal point of Kenya Kwanza's political campaign for the 2027 election. Speaking at Gitimene Market in Buuri Constituency on Monday, Kindiki emphasized that Meru County has received Ksh39 billion for development and construction projects, with Ksh3.9 billion allocated for 21 kilometres of new roads in Meru town.

He criticized critics who demand he abandon President William Ruto, stating they provide no reason to leave the government and offer no details about roads, markets, affordable housing, student hostels, electricity connectivity, or increased agricultural productivity. Kindiki outlined plans for Meru Town to transform into a city by next year, citing the development of 21 modern markets, with the Kiirua ESP Market 95% complete and Timau Market nearing completion.

He also announced that 500 hostels will be constructed at Kiirua Technical Training Institute to accommodate students. Kindiki dismissed political attacks from opponents, urging them to continue with their insults while he focuses on delivering projects. He also addressed unnamed Meru politicians who spend more time attacking him than campaigning for their positions, urging them to focus on their own ambitions.

As an elder of Njuri Ncheke, Kindiki vowed not to trade insults and invoked his role as an elder to promote unity among communities in the region.
