Head coach Jim Harbaugh admitted that the team lacks consistency on offense, attributing the struggle to the influx of changes under new coordinator Mike McDaniel. Harbaugh, who has never been 0-2 as a player or coach, expressed disappointment but saw the fight and compete in his team.

The Chargers' issues are compounded by a lack of discipline, particularly on the offensive line. Veteran tackle Joe Alt incurred three false-start penalties and an offensive holding call, while tight end Charlie Kolar's injury was further highlighted. Quarterback Justin Herbert, who has struggled with turnovers, was visibly frustrated during a critical third-and-inches play.

Despite these setbacks, there are some positives. The rushing attack led by Omarion Hampton has shown promise, with Hampton recording 23 carries for 94 yards and a touchdown against the Raiders. Wide receiver Ladd McConkey has emerged as a reliable target for Herbert, but the duo still need to develop big-play consistency. However, Herbert's inconsistent performance, including three interceptions in two games, continues to be a concern.

Additionally, several key players are sidelined due to injuries, ranging from tight end David Njoku to safety Derwin James.
