Jagan seeks CBI probe into Mega DSC ‘irregularities’, Lokesh’s resignation

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) State coordinator, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, has called for an independent investigation into alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC teacher recruitment process. Reddy claims that the complaints include issues related to sports quota selections, TET and subject eligibility, EWS reservations, examination procedures and certificate verification.

During a press conference on Monday, he stated that candidates who had not passed the TET or met the required subject qualifications were given appointments. Reddy also questioned how sports certificates, allegedly disowned by issuing associations, had passed verification. He raised concerns about an outsourcing employee potentially accessing examination systems, securing a top rank, and subsequently altering the selection list.

Reddy alleged that audio and video material related to question paper leaks and potential money transactions for jobs had surfaced, and he questioned why no comprehensive action had been taken despite the existence of such evidence. He also pointed out complaints from Kadapa and Kurnool districts and questioned the government's "seven-step verification" process, stating that how alleged discrepancies could have gone unnoticed if the procedure had been followed correctly.

Reddy also mentioned that party leaders and elected representatives were denied permission for a peaceful protest under Section 30 in Vijayawada, while another group was allowed to set up tents and use microphones and DJ equipment. Furthermore, he alleged that party leaders faced a lathi-charge when they went to submit a representation.

Reddy demanded a CBI or independent investigation, emphasizing that the issue concerns around 3.5 lakh job aspirants. He stated that legitimately selected candidates on merit should not be affected, while those found guilty of securing jobs through false certificates or other irregularities should face consequences. Reddy also demanded the resignation of HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, stating that Lokesh's resignation should precede the inquiry.
