Islamabad hospitals put on high alert ahead of 3 marches

ISLAMABAD: Hospitals in the federal capital are on high alert as three marches are set to arrive in Islamabad and Rawalpindi in the days ahead. To prepare for any unexpected situation, all assistant executive directors, specialists, the blood bank in-charge, deputy chief nursing superintendent, security officers and storekeepers have been instructed to remain at their stations and be readily available to reach the hospitals swiftly in case of an emergency or a direct request.

Blood bank staff have been urged to maintain a reserve of at least 100 bags of blood, while the transport supervisor has ordered all ambulances and their drivers to be in working order at all times.

The document emphasized that the Assistant Executive Directors (AEDs) in charge of medical stores will ensure a sufficient supply of medical supplies in the Casualty and Wards. The General Stores AED will guarantee that essential items are readily available in case of an emergency. The Incharge of the Oxygen department must maintain a consistent stock of gases and remain accessible within the hospital.

The Incharge of the Emergency Department has been advised to stay vigilant, reserving 10 beds for male patients and 10 beds for female patients specifically. Additionally, the Officer Ward Incharge has been requested to reserve two rooms in the Officer Ward for any unforeseen circumstances.

Hospital staff have been made aware that these heightened security measures will remain in place until September 30, 2026.
