Hounsell refuses to be drawn on Wycombe job

Interim Wycombe Wanderers head coach Tom Hounsell has avoided discussing the possibility of securing the job on a permanent basis, despite demonstrating promising results in his caretaker capacity. The 30-year-old has secured all three matches he has overseen since Michael Duff's dismissal earlier this month, following a disappointing season start.

Hounsell's first game in charge saw his team triumph 3-2 against Leyton Orient, with subsequent victories against Chelsea Under-21s in the EFL Trophy and Wigan. Following Duff's resignation, Wycombe found themselves second-bottom of the table, but Hounsell's swift influence has propelled the club to 14th position in League One. Hounsell emphasized that his focus remains on the players and their performance, stating that he is dedicated to helping the team secure victories and that he is committed to the club and its staff.
