Ian Stedman, a 43-year-old man from Woodbridge, Ontario, spent three decades without a diagnosis for his rare disease. Diagnosed at 32, his condition affected his health, education, and work. It wasn't until his daughter Lia started experiencing similar symptoms that Stedman decided to search online for answers. After hours of research, he found images of skin symptoms that resembled his own.

This led to his diagnosis of Muckle-Wells syndrome, a rare disease. Stedman now advocates for better identification of rare diseases, warning that without safeguards, artificial intelligence used in healthcare could be harmful.
