GCK in Ogun: Trying Times and Transformation the World Needs

The nondenominational Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) held a five-day programme in Ota, Ogun State in late August. Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, the event's organizer, experienced a profound transformation during his time in the state. He recalled his educational roots in Ogun, where he received his primary and secondary education and was later ordained a teacher at Ikenne under the mentorship of late Tai Solarin.

This homecoming was a pivotal moment for Kumuyi, who saw the need to convey a message of total transformation through Christ to the millions watching worldwide.

Kumuyi emphasized that he had gone through major transmutations, having encountered God through His Son Jesus Christ. He urged everyone to experience the same life-changing transformation that he had undergone for several decades. The crusade's theme was "Total Transformation through Christ," which aimed to demonstrate the impartial nature of God in providing this life-changing experience to those who earnestly seek Him.

During the various meetings, Kumuyi interacted with expectant congregants, revealing that Christ's transformation could dispel sin and its resulting consequences such as crime, poverty, diseases, family and social disharmony, and national and global upheavals. He delivered messages like "The Divinely Planned Transformation by Grace for Glory," which centered on the transformation of Saul, the first-century persecutor turned evangelist Paul.

Kumuyi conveyed that Saul's story showed the power of total transformation through Christ, where he went from "an antagonist to Christ to an ambassador for Christ."

GCK's message extended beyond Ogun, as Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide echoed the theme, urging believers to act out genuine transformation instead of a life of pretense. The event featured various programs such as the All Believers' Conference, Impact Academy for youths and young adults, and a pre-GCK Medical outreach that offered free treatment and surgeries to residents.

The attendees walked away from the programme with verifiable testimonies of being saved from sin, backsliding, and diverse physical and spiritual ailments.
