Four major US networks halt Trump coverage in solidarity with CNN

Four major US television networks, CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox, have halted joint coverage of events involving President Donald Trump in solidarity with CNN, which was barred from the White House press pool. The decision came after the White House revoked CNN's credentials from the press pool, citing objections to CNN's reporting. Brian Bunton, a Fox representative, stated that the group will no longer provide shared coverage of presidential events.

The move coincided with lawsuits filed by MSNBC, CNN, and Politico against the Trump administration for denying them access to the White House, alleging that the move threatens press freedom and violates their First Amendment rights. Trump defended the decision, insisting that the White House is not attacking a free press but rather "fake news," calling the media's reporting corrupt and biased.

The lawsuit aims to protect the journalists' right to independent journalism free from government interference.
