Food Safety Lapses Found At Two Dhabas Along Indore Bypass Road, 11 Samples Of Paneer, Curd & Spices Sent For Testing

The Food Safety Administration conducted inspections at two dhabas along Indore Bypass Road, collecting 11 food samples for laboratory testing. Senior Food Officer Manish Swami revealed that the inspections took place on Saturday at the directive of the Food Safety Commissioner and Collector Shivam Verma. At MS Jammu Kashmir Dhaba, officials discovered that the food registration certificate was improperly displayed, along with the absence of a water testing report and health check-up certificates for food workers.

Open packets of raw food, accumulated water in the washing area, and inadequate drainage arrangements were also noted. Some food workers were seen without protective gear like caps and aprons.

The team proceeded to inspect Gill Da Dhaba-2, encountering a similarly unregistered food establishment with an unorganized storage area. The kitchen floor was found dirty and damaged, and grease deposits were present on the kitchen exhaust and walls. Inadequate cleanliness was observed, and raw vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items were stored in the same freezer.

The dhaba was also found with open dustbins and insufficient cleaning and drainage arrangements. Health certificates for food workers were unavailable, and several workers lacked protective gear such as caps, aprons, and gloves.

All 11 collected samples will be sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory in Bhopal, and further action will be determined based on the laboratory reports.
