Failed networking vendor Cambium set to turn off its cloudy management portal

Cambium Networks, a networking hardware vendor, has entered administration and is advising customers that its cloud services may not survive much longer. The company has been struggling financially, admitting errors in its financial reports for the past six quarters in August 2025. The NASDAQ delisted Cambium following an unsuccessful attempt to rejoin the bourse.

In May, the company disclosed that its officers had "substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern." Last week, Cambium announced that it had laid off 260 employees, equivalent to 53.6% of its workforce, without providing severance payments. The company has also ceased production of its Wi-Fi access points, NSE firewalls, and cnMatrix switches.

Administrators have been appointed in the UK, and a statement revealed that the fixed wireless broadband business is expected to resume shortly after a brief pause. Cambium's hosted management plane, cnMaestro Cloud, will continue to operate until October 1st, 2026. However, the company recommends users switch to the on-prem version of cnMaestro to avoid losing functionality.

Customers now face a race to maintain control of their equipment and an uncertain future post the expiration of the trial license for the on-prem version of cnMaestro. Cambium Networks acknowledges the concern this situation has caused its customers and partners, pledging to provide further updates.
