Daughter brings her father’s cendol legacy home

KLANG: In a charming old wood-and-brick house, Warung Cendol Wak Paad offers guests a glimpse into the past with its retro ambiance and traditional Malaysian cuisine. Run by second-generation owner Siti Zulaika Supaad, the eatery preserves her father’s cendol and ABC legacy. Zulaika, who started helping at the stall at age 10, revived the business in June 2021, inspired by former customers' nostalgia for her father’s cendol.

The family’s old home, largely unused, was renovated to create a nostalgic atmosphere, featuring family heirlooms and retro décor. Warung Cendol Wak Paad now serves a variety of dishes, including nasi lemak, Penang laksa, mee bandung, and fruit rojak, alongside its signature cendol. Zulaika's deep roots in the area have led to a surge in customers from Klang, Kelantan, Johor, Singapore, and even Korea, who appreciate the authentic and warm experience she offers.
