Czech Republic grants provisional approval for Tesla’s FSD system

On Monday, the Czech Republic granted provisional approval for Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, marking a change from its previous cautious stance on the technology. The Czech Ministry of Transport cited experience from other nations, additional European data, and safeguards designed to monitor the system as reasons for its decision.

Earlier, the ministry had expressed concerns about speed-limit compliance and ensuring adequate driver oversight of the system. In a statement, the ministry emphasized that resolving specific issues related to the system's safety and operation was essential before granting approval. Tesla announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the system's rollout in the Czech Republic would commence shortly.

The Netherlands' regulator, RDW, had previously granted provisional approval for the FSD system in April. Slovenia and Estonia followed suit, approving the use of the FSD system earlier this year.
