Consulate in Vancouver says two pilots who were found dead were Indian students

Two Indian students, Manoj Sivakumar from Tamil Nadu and Srisaran Thirugnanasambantham from Puducherry, tragically lost their lives in an air accident in Canada while receiving flight training. The Indian Consulate General in Vancouver has confirmed their deaths and is providing consular assistance to their families. The consulate has offered help with the repatriation of their mortal remains to India.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by Canadian authorities, including the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. The incident is being treated as a search-and-rescue operation, with search-and-rescue teams locating the wreckage of the aircraft at around 6pm Central Daylight Time. The accident occurred near Kisbey, Saskatchewan, on a night cross-country flight operated by Harv’s Air, a flight school based in St Andrews, Manitoba.

The Cessna 172 aircraft involved in the crash was reportedly on a flight from Regina to Steinbach via Carlyle, carrying two licensed pilots who were working towards earning their commercial pilot licences. The flight had not yet reached its intended destination when it failed to arrive, prompting authorities to launch an investigation.

The families of the deceased students from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry are now awaiting the return of their loved ones' remains. The Indian consulate is coordinating with local authorities to facilitate the repatriation process and assist with any documentation or arrangements required.
