CM sanctions ₹15 lakh assistance to families of Telangana movement activists

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced a ₹15 lakh assistance package for families of two Telangana movement activists. Lingala Kedari and his wife Pushpalatha lost their lives in a tragic incident earlier this month. Kedari, originally from Shantinagar-Postal Colony in Hanumakonda, was actively involved in social service during the Telangana movement.

The couple ran a small hotel and provided free meals and tea to activists, while also advocating against food wastage. Kedari passed away on September 9, 2026, and Pushpalatha on the following day. The state's Relief Fund will ensure the ₹10 lakh awarded reaches their legal heirs.

Additionally, Mandala Raju, a 34-year-old resident of Gorleaveedu village in Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district, has been granted ₹5 lakh by the Chief Minister. Raju, son of Mandala Sammi Reddy, disappeared during the Telangana Statehood movement in 2013. He was an active participant in the movement and was arrested before going missing. Mandala Raju's family received the humanitarian aid under the Telangana martyrs' quota, as directed by the Chief Minister.
