Carrot Top Accused of Sexual Misconduct; Lawyers Say It’s Extortion

Comedian Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, recently faced a suicide attempt amid a legal battle involving allegations of sexual misconduct. According to multiple reports and legal documents, the teenager, 25-year-old Zachary Defazio, claimed that Thompson sent him unwanted sexual material and alcohol while exploiting him when Defazio was 19.

The lawsuit was filed in Florida's Broward County civil court in early August by Brian Evans, a singer who had previously worked with Thompson. Evans alleged that Thompson sent a video in 2022 showing him performing a sexual act on someone who appeared much younger, causing severe emotional distress. Thompson's legal team countered that Evans' lawsuit and filings are an attempt to extort money through coercion and blackmail, with Evans allegedly threatening to submit a sexually explicit recording of Thompson's voice to the court unless he receives $500,000.

Thompson's legal team also pointed out that Evans has been labeled a "vexatious litigant" in a separate case. However, Evans disputed these allegations, claiming that his offer to settle the lawsuit for $2 million was a legitimate settlement proposal. Thompson was hospitalized following the suicide attempt on September 18th, and his representatives asked for privacy.
